The home sale market in Montgomery County is heading into the spring on a slower trajectory than last year.
Sales volume is 12.4% under this time last year, and the number of homes sold slid over 14%.
Other indicators are steady, including median and average home prices. It’s taking a few days longer for homes to sell, up to 54 days from the initial listing to being under contract. One more slight improvement – sellers are getting 96.9% of their original list price, a very slight improvement from last month.
The harsh winter weather has certainly been a contributor to our slower than normal move into the spring market. We’ll see in the next couple of months if the pent-up demand will carry us to as good a year as 2013.
