Howard County, Maryland Home Sales Update
Mt Airy and Elkridge Show Solid Increase in Sales, Western Howard sees price increases
Home sales numbers for April are in for Howard County. Breaking down the numbers by ZIP code, you can see that Elkridge and Mt Airy have both experienced an impressive increase in home sales compared to last year, up 86 and 69 percent respectively, while western Ellicott City (21042) had a solid improvement, too, at a 40 percent increase in sales.
Brookville’s 10 sales in April were a 233% increase over last year, making it the top dog ZIP code in increased home sales.
Prices are up in parts of Howard County, too, with the western county showing the greatest price increases. Glenwood and Woodbine are up solidly, with Clarksville and Mt Airy also posting solid increases in median sales price from last year. However, prices weren’t holding up as well in the Elkridge, Laurel, and eastern Howard County areas.
Countywide, here’s how we stack up.
The median sold price is actually down about 7 percent from last year, but flat from last month. You can really see how local real estate is.
We are seeing great activity across the county, with multiple offers on the best homes in many price ranges. We expect to see price improvements, unless supply can keep up with demand.
