Happy American Women’s Business Day!
In 1983, American Business Women’s Day became an official holiday.
Since then, every September 22 honors the accomplishments and contributions of the millions of women in the work force, and the millions of women business owners in the United States.
The American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) championed Congress for the establishment of the official holiday. The association’s mission is to serve as a professional network for women and to correct pay inequity among men.
Did you know that twice as many more women than men are starting their own businesses? The work-life balance challenges women encounter contributes to their choice to become women entrepreneurs. Women’s businesses tend to stay small, and most often women maintain sole proprietorship of them. Female owners are often dubbed as business superheros for their diverse abilities and accomplishments.
